Direct-to-Supplier (DTS) Poly Bags
Custom branded poly bags for apparel brands, produced and certified to meet the EU's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and California's SB 343 and SB 54.
The problem
Do your brand's poly bags all have slightly different logos, environmental claims and even feel? If your clothing suppliers source their own poly bags, then this is likely the case.
It also means that to comply with the new EU PPWR packaging regulations, you'll be chasing compliance documentation from every bag manufacturer, via every clothing supplier. A nightmare.
A better way to supply
Here's how it works
Apparel brand works with Better Packaging to produce poly bags to the brand's specs. Poly bags are:
Suppliers order the brand's poly bags via the DTS portal:
All poly bags are covered by Better Packaging's POLLAST!C PPWR Declaration of Conformity — a single document.
Better Packaging manages production and inventory levels according to pre-agreed minimum and maximum levels.
Better Packaging provides the brand with regular impact reporting — tonnes of OBP saved and carbon emissions reduction figures.
Frequently asked questions (FAQS)
Direct-to-Supplier (DTS) is Better Packaging's model for garment poly bags: instead ofeach clothing supplier sourcing its own bags from its own manufacturer, BetterPackaging produces uniform, certified poly bags to the brand's specifications andmakes them available to every supplier through a single ordering portal. It replaces afragmented, multi-manufacturer supply chain with one certified product and onecompliance statement.
Yes. Every POLLAST!C poly bag produced under the DTS model is covered by a singlePPWR Declaration of Conformity issued by Better Packaging, so brands don't need tochase separate compliance documentation from each poly bag manufacturer theirsuppliers use.
Our POLLAST!C Poly Bags are made from 100% certified post consumer recycled (PCR) content so are eligible for eco-modulated EPR fees under SB 54, California's EPR scheme. The messaging on our own stock range of poly bags is compliant with SB 343's regulations and we will work with you on any custom packaging to ensure it is also compliant.
As of 2027, we will not be stocking compostable poly bags in North America as AS 1201 means that no biodegradable bags, even if fully certified compostable, are permitted to carry compostability messaging in California. We will also be recommending our customers do not use custom-branded compostable poly bags in California. Read more here.
Yes. POLLAST!C poly bags are produced to each brand's own specification — includingbranding, size and print — so every supplier receives the same custom, on-brand bagrather than sourcing their own with inconsistent logos, colours or environmentalclaims.
POLLAST!C poly bags are made from 100% recycled Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP)—plastic waste recovered before it can reach the ocean.
POLLAST!C is certified to both the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and OBP (OceanBound Plastic) certification, verifying its recycled content — in addition to the singlePPWR Declaration of Conformity that covers every bag produced under the DTS model.
